A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Sous Chef to support the delivery of catering services within a prestigious conference and hotel venue environment, where it is also the home of Scouts Association UK. To work alongside the Head Chef in managing all daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering, stock rotation and all due diligence. Provides food and service quality and consistency by following designated recipes.
Leads kitchen team in Head Chef's absence
Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to cooking, food preparation and presentation.
Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients
Ensures a first-in, first-out food stock rotation system and verifies all food products are duly dated for quality assurance
Supports in the recruitment, employment and induction of new employees to Radish company standards.
Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
Responsible for the preparation, cooking and presentation of foods to a high specification, taking into consideration any customers with dietary requirements. Maintaining high levels of hygiene and cleanliness by working within Health & Safety & Food legislation guidelines.
Works with head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff skills, and training opportunities
Assists head chef with the creation of seasonal menu’s and implementation.
Coordinates with FOH staff ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing

Salary package up to £27,000 per annum plus benefits
