About us:

This is a great opportunity to learn in a busy kitchen on the pathway to becoming a fully qualified chef. The business has a keen interest in training and progressing candidates to become professional, high quality modern chefs

The Role:

You will be responsible to the Head Chef who will advise you of your day to day duties. These will include the preparation of side dishes, helping to open up the kitchen and clean down as well as learning how to cook a variety of dishes.

Tasks will include:

Assist and work with fellow Chefs

Working with a wide range of food and learning all cooking techniques

Assist in the preparation of food before service

To learn and develop cooking skills by training with current experienced chefs

Assist superiors in ensuring the procedure level is consistent with the restaurant’s requirements

Adhere to portion control policy and standard plating instructions

Ensure food waste is kept to a minimum

Ensures that food left over at the end of service is stored in accordance with established procedures

Ensures that all working areas are kept clean and tidy on a day to day basis, according to Statutory regulations and standards

Ensures that hygiene and sanitation are strictly observed in the kitchen and that equipment and utensils are handled, maintained and used correctly

Strictly observes the hygiene and safety practices at all times by minimising risk through hazard spotting and safe working practices

Presents a well groomed appearance, wearing the correct footwear and uniform at all times

Salary: 8.50 per hour + Tips
